Top Five Races of the Decade!

Ok, this is more of a notice than an actual blog, but starting soon I will be recapping the top five races of this decade. I have already come up with a few options, thanks to brainstorming with Brian Zipse, host of Zipse At The Track. These options are.....

Ghostzapper's 04' Woodward

09' Woodward

09' Preakness

09' Kentucky Oaks

09' Haskell Invitational

09' Breeders Cup Classic

08' Kentucky Derby

08' Dubai World Cup

07' Belmont

07' Breeders Cup Classic

07' Travers Stakes

07' Jockey Club Gold Cup

06' Whitney Handicap

Other

If you have any other races you would like to add please tell me in the comment section of this blog, that way I can record them accurately along with all the other races. Also as a not the 05' Preakness is already scheduled. It will be the climax of the top five races of the decade. Thank you so much for reading!

  1. Curlin's 2007 Preakness Stakes, who can forget that one? The way he re-rallied in his 4th lifetime start after Street Sense passed him at the top of the stretch, then caughts SS at the wire in a photo while equaling the fastest Preakness ever run was incredible!
Great blog, I just found it!

  4. I like the 2001 BC Classic won by Tiznow as one of my top five for sure, the 2004 Woodward was fantastic, many of Rachel's wins gave me goosebumps, but I think my overall #1 would be Afleet Alex winning the Preakness.

  5. So far we have Afleet Alex and his Preakness, Curlin's Preakness, and Rachel's Haskell on the poll bar. Lets keep the votes coming!

  6. I kind of have to say Zenyatta's Classic...I mean, I wasn't really following racing when some of these horses were racing, but I watched the replays. And none of them really gave me the chills except when watching her close in those huge strides.
